AC 3000ME

SLJ Hackett are pleased to offer this very rare and somewhat forgotten AC 3000ME. Number 7 of 106 produced by Thames Ditton outfit, this specific car was subject to an extremely thorough restoration by the previous owner spanning over 20 years. The project was finally completed in 2006 but unfortunately it’s devoted owner was struck by a terminal illness shortly after along followed roughly a decade in storage the AC appeared in an auction where it made double it’s estimate. 

Regrettably the current owner has sadly passed away while in the process of completing the car. Over the years he owned and restored some extremely desirable classics, including numerous Bristol’s, Porches, Sunbeams and many more. Most notably upon visiting the AC works in his Aceca Bristol and talking to Tony Rudd, he collected a 3000ME sales brochure but regretted not buying one there and then so he rectified his mistake but purchasing PVY 999T.

The current mechanical condition of the car is very impressive, having covered very little millage since restoration but over 15 years of storage with little use here and there, the condition is testament to the expensive materials used to rebuild the car all those years ago. Engineers from Spencer Lane-Jones LTD have thoroughly inspected the car and found very little wrong, various small jobs have been carried out including, new tyres, rubber components changed and general service work. Upon request the inspection report is readily available. 

The AC requires some paint work as seen in the photographs, all missing parts (badges etc) are present and can be refitted. 

A vast history file is present and will come with the car, within the history is technical drawings from the previous owner which restoring and improving the car.
