1952 Bristol 401 Ex Alain de Cadenet.

 

SLJ Hackett are proud to present this elegant late Bristol 401 that features significant upgrades.

 

Presented in timeless Gunmetal Grey Metallic coachwork, this Bristol has a certain undeniable presence. The interior is trimmed in Cherry Red upholstery coupled with matching Cherry Red carpets. This Bristol is now fitted with a classic looking & feeling modern type front seats with all important headrests fitted. This Bristol car (401/1198) has been kept in fantastic working order with both the exterior and interior showing little signs of age, wear or otherwise.

 

401/1198 features many sympathetic upgrades to provide the best driving experience a 401 can; it has been fitted with the finial run 2.2 Litre 110 series engine with an oil cooler. Spencer Lane-Jones LTD rebuilt and fitted the Bristol 110 engine in the early 2000’s. The complete Bristol 406 gearbox and overdrive has also been fitted with the original free-wheel on first present. Further upgrades include a modern type kenlowe fan and brake servo.

Spencer Lane Jones LTD have considerable maintenance records from 1996 through to 2010. In 2022 Stanton Motorsports recommissioned this 401 after a spell of lack of use, this was at cost of £5000. Most recently we have commissioned a brand new aluminium fuel tank to be made and fitted along with other service various works.

 

Alain de Cadenet

1945-2022

 

Alain de Cadenet was an English racing driver and television presenter. Between the 1970s & 1980’s he raced in 15 editions of 24 hrs of Le Mans! Motorsport produced a great obituary about his fascinating life, link below.
