This 1949 Bristol 401 is presented in rich blue coachwork. The cream leather interior is in great condition having been fully re-trimmed including fresh carpets and headlining in 2008 by Bristol cars ltd. Alongside the interior refurbishment the car has been put through an extensive full restoration in the same year to include, but not limited to, a full body respray, chassis rebuild and windscreen and steering wheel replacement costing in excess of £66,000. In the August of 2008 the car was awarded first place in the BOC annual concours D'Elegance. Prior to 2008 works the car was subjected to a engine re-build and new overdrive (2001). Since then the current owner has maintained and enjoyed looking after the vehicle by keeping it serviced and prepared for many touring adventures abroad which come well documented in the history file supplied with the car.  Mechanically this car is a pleasure to drive and provides a strong yet smooth ride. A fantastic example of a 1949 Bristol 401.

Bristol 401 first registered: Sept 1950

chassis no: 401298

engine no: 85C1509

The current owner has had this vehicle for 21 years and since 1985 it has had 4 former keepers. A detailed history file compiled of historic photos, magazine features and in depth documenting of works make for a great look back at the life of this Bristol 401 so far.
